I Have A Dream
“A teacher plants the seeds of knowledge, sprinkles them with love, and patiently nurtures their growth to produce tomorrow’s dreams.”
My friend Emma and I were once sharing with each other the strangest dreams we had had. She started off by narrating one such dream, where she bought a lion as a pet, and roamed on it’s back, showing off her exotic pet to all the astonished citizens who saw her. After she had finished recounting her dream, I described an uncanny dream that I had had just a few days ago. I dreamt that Spiderman handed over his costume to me, and I went around the world saving people.
Both of us had a hearty laugh hearing each other's dreams. Emma then made a wise statement which left me wondering what my dream was. She said, "There are two types of dreams -one that you see in your sleep, and another that do not let you sleep."
I spent the next day or two pondering over my life's dream. I finally concluded that my true dream in life was to become a teacher -not just a regular teacher, but one who is looked up to by each and every student of hers. I dream to be a constant source of inspiration for all my students and make them look forward to learning something new every day.
Besides bringing about changes in students' academic performance, I also hope to make them fond of learning and gaining knowledge, and not merely learning for the sake of obtaining good scores. As a student myself, I know for a fact that for every person, there is that one subject that is their Achilles' heel, and I hope that my teaching can get rid of any such phobias that students have towards a particular subject.
I aspire to become a teacher who cares for her students and leaves no stone unturned to make them ace in all walks of life. I personally feel that a good teacher is one who tries her level best to make the entire classroom experience lively and engaging so that no student feels disinterested. An effective teacher always empathizes with her students, and helps them get better at their weak points, holding their hand and guiding them all along.I aim to be a patient teacher, always understanding of students. I hope to make my students bold enough to face the wrath of the world.
Better than a thousand days of diligent study, is one day with a great teacher. I firmly believe in this. Do you?
Surely your dream will be fulfilled. And may you dream and fulfill such many more. God bless.
